About The Event

"Activity before Concept, Concept before Vocabulary". That is how you should learn science. Selected 25 experiments/activities from syllabus of physics, chemistry and biology for the class 9th to help students learn science through experiment. These experiments will help them learn concepts better and forever.

Ideal For: Students going to 9th grade in the next academic year or those who have just completed 9th grade.

List of experiments:

  1. Third law demonstration - Action and Reaction - Using Spring Balance/ Balloon/ Speedcart
  2. Law of conservation of momentum using speedcart
  3. Measure the centripetal force exerted by rotating body.
  4. Determining density of irregular object heavier than water.
  5. Build Roller Coaster
  6. Simple pendulum - determine gravity and analyse the effect of length, mass and release angle.
  7. Determine if sound absorption by acoustic foam and similar materials changes with the frequency of sound.
  8. Building hydraulic arm based on Pascal's law.
  9. Separate the components of a mixture containing sand, common salt and ammonium chloride.
  10. Law of conservation of mass
  11. Impact of temperature on diffusion of soluble solids in liquids.
  12. Preparation of Saturated solution of a salt and crystallization of salt.
  13. Experiment to test solubility of ionic salts in water, kerosene, alcohol and different solvents.
  14. Neutralization reaction: Calculating molarity of the solution.
  15. Types of basic chemical reactions.
  16. Electrolysis of water.
  17. Observe plant cells under the microscope.
  18. Observe animal cells under the microscope.
  19. Investigate osmosis through a semipermeable membrane using apple cider vinegar and a pH indicator
  20. Check the bacteria present in your hands
  21. Observe difference between dicot and monocot stem
  22. Learn about sound and hearing using a decibel meter to compare noise levels in different settings and locations./ Build different types of paper planes.
  23. Build a Gauss rifle and determine the effect the number of magnet stages has on the flight distance and velocity of ball bearings.
  24. Paper chromatography.
  25. Separation of two miscible liquids by distillation.

When you go back to your classroom, you would find understanding the concept easier, you would learn it faster, better and forever.

Number of experiments: 25

Duration:  5 days, 4 hour session each day.
