Experiment Alpha-10th Grade

 "Activity before Concept, Concept before Vocabulary". That is how one should learn science. Selected 25 experiments/activities from the syllabus of physics, chemistry, and biology for the class 10th to help students learn science through experiments.

We will cover the theory and the concepts of the experiments before students design and perform the experiments. There is lot of learning while having fun doing experiments. 

Ideal for: Students attending the 10th grade in the next academic session.   

List of experiments;

1. Different types of reactions - decomposition, synthesis, precipatative, exothermic, double displacement, single displacement, combustion, catalyzed.
2. Acid+Base (Neutralization) reaction.
3. Reaction of oxides with acids and bases.
4. Reaction of metals with salts - reactivitivy series
5. Solubility of ethanoic acid in water, litmus test, reaction with sodium carbonate
6. Reaction of alkaline potassium parmagnate with alcohol
7. Reaction of ethanoic acid and ethanol with Conc. H2SO4
8. Electrolysis of water
9. Laws of refraction (prism/slab) 
10. Laws of reflection(depth), multiple images in mirror placed at angles. 
11. Correcting the defects in vision. (Image formation by lenses.)
12. Image formation by convex mirror.
13. Image formation by concave mirror.
14. Measuring resistance of wire of different materials and sizes.
15. Measuring voltage and current of resistors set in parallel and series.
16. Magnetic field around current carrying conductor.
17. Eddy current breaking
18. Current carrying conductor in a magnetic field.
19. Observe the root tips for evidence of mitosis
20. Experiment to show chlor alkali process.
21. Effect of light on photosynthesis.
22. Mitosis/Gel Electrophoresis.
23. Respiration in germinating seeds.
24. Finding effectiveness of different disinfectant/anti-bacterial agents on bacteria growth.
25. Making plastic from milk/potato starch.
