If people are hired to do work, then they must be selected for their capabilities right? But it doesn't always happens that way. 

There are times; And we have all seen those times, when a new employee joins in and we realise that the employee is not as capable as we first thought them to be. "She interviewed so well.", we think regretfully.

Inspite of having well thought out systems and processes, candidate fitment is a real issue. And it is not limited to hiring external candidates. Such issues crop up even with internal job selections. Is it the interviewing process that is the culprit? Or is it the interviewer that needs to be blamed? Well, it could be a combination of many factors and the selection process has undergone evolution, many times over through the years.

The focus this time is specifically on how bias can impact selection and is it possible to really make the process bias proof? At which points during the selection process does bias creep in and what can be done about it?  - These are some questions and points that will be addressed. This topic is being discussed by well known experts in their fields.
