National Workshop on Advanced Data Science - From Sales Forecast to Cognitive Computing

Computer Society of India, Trivandrum Chapter in Technical Collaboration with Curvelogics Pvt. Ltd. organizes National Workshop on Advanced Data Science - From Sales Forecast to Cognitive Computing at Hilton Garden Inn, Trivandrum on Saturday August 5, 2017.

Technologists predict that computing will become increasingly micro service-enabled, where everything – including analytics – will be connected via an API. By 2020, 50% of all analytics software will include prescriptive analytics built on cognitive computing functionality and that Cognitive Services will be embedded in new apps. The larger market for data analytics software and business intelligence solutions which now includes the new disciplines of data science and cognitive computing which is also a leading research area. It very challenging to get talented machine learning and data science practitioners over the past decade and always relied on building teams ground up by coaching engineers, statisticians and other quants graduates. With the current boom in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and highly competitive nature of the industry, organizations need experts within their organization. As a solution to this challenge, we organize a workshop on Data Science to upskill enthusiasts who are currently working in IT industries, R&D organizations and Academic institutions and also to students.

Pedagogy

Will consist of theoretical sessions to enable participants to understand the conceptual base and hands on programming exercises to reinforce the learning. Participants are required to bring their own laptops with WiFi connectivity.

Training Prerequisites

Basic Knowledge in Programming. A quick recap of R and Python is included in the session.

Faculty Profile

Dr. Brijesh Madhavan
Brijesh is the CEO of Curvelogics Pvt Ltd and a co-founder of Gnobiosys Computational Genomic Labs. He has about 20 year of experience in advanced Statistical Modeling and Machine learning. He has held senior leadership roles heading Advanced Analytics, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence teams in MNCs such as HP, IHS and EY. He has also been a mentor to several budding entreprenuers and startups.

Dr. Yuvaraj Ranganathan
Yuvaraj is the Principal Data Scientist at Curvelogics and is also the co-founder of Gnobiosys Computational Genomic Labs. He has over 10 years of fundamental research experience from premiere institutes such as Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Agrovyzkum, Czech Republic. He is also the person who standardized analytical methods for some of best research institutes in Czech Republic. He is focused on developing Artificial Intelligence products that cater to the life-science and healthcare industry.

Abilash V J
Abhilash is the Junior Data Scientist, Computer Vision at Curvelogics. He has been building deep learning based Computer Vision Modules and NLP engines.

Shinma NP
Shimna is the Junior Data Scientist, Natural Language Processing at Curvelogics. She has been building deep learning based NLP engines.

Remya GR
Remya is the Junior Data Scientist, Cloud Services at Curvelogics. She has been working cloud services.
