About The Event

Dhak Bhairi fort is a hill fort situated in the base village of Sandshi of Raigad District this trek is an extremely hard trek with its height of 2700 feet i.e. 823 meters. There are three access routes to the fort. One is Jambhiwali, second is Rajmachi and the third is Sandashi. There is a water hole in the cave. The water is ice cold in every season and used for cooking purpose by the villagers. The cave is an impromptu temple of Lord Bahiri where sacrifices are carried out on regular basis.


DHAK BAHIRI
The fort is dedicated to God bhairi the god of Thakur Adivasis hence it is called as Dhak - Bhairi. The fort of Dhak-Bhairi was discovered by great historian Mr. Gopal Nilkanth Dandekar.

Meeting Point : Shivajinagar Railway Station

Travel Time: 6 AM sharp by local train

Itinerary:-

Day1 :

6 AM - Depart from Pune by local train
Reach Kamshet village. Catch local jeep and reach Jambhavali village
8 AM – Have breakfast and start trek to Dhak Bahiri
11.30 AM – Reach the top and explore the place. Reaching the top is most adventurous part of this trek.
Have packed lunch and Start descend towards base village
4 PM – Reach base village and have tea and snacks
4.30 PM – Depart towards Kamshet via local jeeps
5.30 PM – Reach the Kamshet station n catch the local train to Pune
7 PM – Reach Pune
