Experiential Education Pioneer Creya Learning Announces CIMC 2013 for School Students
Unique event for school children that fosters awareness of holistic learning and whole brain development to be held in Bangalore this year
Pioneering education services provider Creya Learning has announced the second edition of their unique Creya Ignited Minds Challenge (CIMC) for school students. It will be held between 9 am and 7 pm on November 15 and 16 at the Dream: In Centre, Joseph Chemmanur Hall, 1st Cross, 1st Stage, Indiranagar, Bangalore. The inaugural edition of the Challenge was held in Hyderabad last year to great acclaim and won by Glendale Academy, Hyderabad.
This unique event will see teams from 20 select Bangalore schools come together to be trained by experts on design thinking and problem solving and then build working solutions for the real world. A panel of eminent educationists, media and industry experts will be comprise the jury along with Creya experts.
Creya Learning focuses on equipping children with the skills, literacies, competencies and attitude needed to thrive in the dynamic world of the 21st Century. They partner with schools across the country to deliver programs based on concepts such as STEM education, 21st century skills, experiential education and design thinking to students in K-12 grades.
Speaking about the challenge, Creya Learning CEO Harikrishna Verma said, “CIMC is a ‘whole brain’ contest that encourages children to apply their classroom learning to the outside world. They will be given a problem statement for which they will have to brainstorm as a team, ideate, design, build and present a solution.”
The Challenge is open to students of 7th and 8th classes from all Bangalore schools. A novel entry in a schedule of “left-brained” analytical tests like the Olympiads, talent search exams and other written tests that students take, CIMC requires them to apply their “right-brain” artistic and design faculties equally. There is no fee to register. Prize money of up to INR 1 lakh is up for grabs, along with a rolling trophy and certificates.
