Enroll in a 3-7 days long creative pottery retreat and learn how to throw clay with a professional ceramist. This retreat will teach you everything you need to know before you start throwing pots out of the clay and you’ll be surprised how effortless it is to make your own handmade ceramic daily dishes and utensils, or anything you can think of. It also will be an opportunity to start building a collection of your own artwork that you can use every day and a chance to free your creativity while focusing on your inner being in a soothing atmosphere, surrounded by nature.
Our creative art retreat is that place that will quell your soul. Take some time away from the city to reconnect and find a state of the balance; refresh your mind, body, and spirit. At the Dharamkot creative art retreat, you choose your pace. There is never an obligation to be involved in an activity if you don’t feel like it. Be believe relaxation isn't a luxury—it's a necessity. So spend your days getting back to the basics: stretching out in the sunlight or exercising, doing yoga or meditating, reading books under a tree, walking on forest trails or listening to the sound of nature – whatever brings inner peace to you.
Who is it for?
The Dharamkot creative art retreat is a place for you whether you are an artist, writer or a corporate employee aching for an amazing vacation.
The retreat experience is great for groups, couples, families, or individuals looking to get away, breathe easier, relax and make beautiful things out of clay.
The pottery retreat is suitable for both, prior participants of ceramics workshops and complete beginners, no prior experience with ceramics is required. During the retreat participants will reach the skills necessary to make their own pottery, i.e. throwing pots on the wheel and hand-building.
This is an ongoing, flexible retreat to experiencing life in an alternative way, breathing fresh air, and enjoying a combination of stillness and activity. Enjoy the peace and quiet, privacy, time for yourself to relax, reflect and create. If that sounds like something you are gonna enjoy, this retreat is for you!
We can’t wait to have you join us for this pottery retreat. We’ve limited the class size to 10 people so that we can provide you with more one-on-one instruction, more inspiration and really get to know each other—creative junkies just like you!
By the end of the workshop, you will have created a handful of pieces (3+ depending on what sizes you create) and will have an opportunity to decorate your pieces with underglaze paints. Your pieces will then be taken away to be fired, and then finished with a clear glaze (if you choose).
