Since time immemorial, women have tried to push boundaries both in their professional and personal lives but they still have a long way to go. In fact according to research and various surveys conducted, there is much pay discrimination between men and women in the same kind of employment irrespective of the field they belong to. There have been women and even men who have been advocating for equal pay for equal work but sadly, there has been very little change.
The Ladies’ Wing of the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has always been in the forefront in facilitating women to become more independent and self-sufficient. To further this cause they have invited Justice Gautam Patel, Hon’ble Judge, Bombay High Court, who will decode “Cracking the Glass Ceiling” with his unmatched wit, felicity of expression and passion for the cause.
The event will involve a discussion as to why deserving well qualified women are even today denied the opportunity to reach the highest positions in their careers. They are told that they need to earn a seat at the table, which many men achieve simply because they are men.
Speaking about the event, Ms. Mohana Nair, the President of IMC Ladies’ Wing said, “With this event we are hoping to give women an opportunity to understand problems faced by women everywhere and share their thoughts and concerns about their future. We are also very excited to hear from Justice Gautam Patel, who has always been a strong advocate for this cause and we hope that this event will go a long way to change the mindsets of people.”
