Leading global coffee chain Costa Coffee is now looking to brew laughter along with great coffee. It is introducing Laughter Evenings titled Costa Laughaccino which will debut at their Kormangala 80 ft Road and Jayanagar outlet.
Costa pioneered the recipe of combining coffee with comedy when it introduced Costa Laughaccino series in Gurgaon late last year. Bangalore being the next stop for this rollicking ride.
Featuring some of the funniest stand up comedy artists from Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai, it promises to be a total riot. Some of the performers include Mumbai based Gursimran Khamba, who has created ripples with his brand of humour which provides a unique perspective on the current socio-political scene; Neeti Palta, among the best female comics “who figured early on that being an Indian woman, if she was going to be beaten up it might as well be for a worthy cause”; Funny face Rajneesh Kapoor, a Delhi based stand up comic who believes in doing clean, intelligent comedy [ he’s joking!] and regularly performs at The Comedy Store in Mumbai, Tanmay Bhat, a Mumbai based stand up comic and a regular at The Comedy Store, who also opens for Vir Das and is a part of the Cardinal Bengans; Varun Grover who in his own words is an “Indian, Engineer from a half-IIT, and an ex-fat guy - basically all that keeps my self-esteem on the lower side”. His humor stems from observing failures of human kind and crazy news items among others; Rohan Joshi, a stand-up comedian, writer, columnist, rabid UNO player who also writes for television and film. As a stand-up comedian, Rohan`s material is edgy, political, observational, and adult in its sensibilities. Ashish Shakya is a stand-up comedian, humour columnist, TV writer and full-time beer enthusiast. He co-writes the news satire show ‘The Week that wasn’t’ for CNN-IBN. Last but certainly not the least, Banglalore’s very own funnyman Praveen Kumar, whose acts are peppered with hilarious observations and who has the knack of turning anything that irritates him into comedy!
About the initiative, Santhosh Unni, CEO, Costa Coffee India says “We are very excited to bring Laughaccino to Bangalore.Coffee drinking is becoming synonymous with good times, friendly banter and a cheerful ambience. Costa Laughaccino is an attempt at entertaining our customers as much as it is about creating a platform for talent going forward. Let’s just say we have added a new flavour to the coffee drinking experience in a bid to put a smile on the face of our customers.”
