Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with ITP Division of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India is organizing a Conference on “Lines of Credit: Increasing Footprint of India-Africa Project Partnership” in New Delhi.
The lines of credit given by Government of India have played a very important role towards enhancing the level of economic engagement between India and African nations. An important outcome of the 2nd Africa-India Forum Summit held in May 2011 at Addis Ababa was the announcement by Government of India to extend a 5 Billion USD Line of Credit for projects in Africa over the next three years. While this is expected to further stimulate Indian business to explore Africa as LoC provides a soft landing option in a new market, it also encourages Indian businesses to explore and pursue new and emerging business opportunities.
In this background, the Conference will aim to showcase the enhanced capability of Indian businesses across sectors and also the benefit that African countries can draw from the emerging partnerships. It will also showcase the strength of Indian business in projects delivery in Africa. Over 100 Senior Government and Ministerial representatives from more than 35 African countries are expected to participate at the Conference.
