FICCI, in collaboration with Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India and Survey of India, is organising a one-day conference titled, ‘Geospatial Technologies for Good Governance’, to be held at Federation House, FICCI, New Delhi.
The conference will emphasise the significance of achieving good governance through appropriate use of geospatial technologies and create a forum for exchange of information, experiences and ideas among institutions, organisations and practitioners involved in the overall process of governance.
Imperative Factors for Indian Geospatial Sector – Policy, Best Practices, Capacity
Geospatial sector is still a very niche area in India. Having barely a fraction of total budgetary spend focused towards this technology and merely a handful of high skill professionals working in this industry, it still requires a lot of nurturing in terms of policy interventions, capacity building investments and promotion of best practices to make it work on a wider scale. The session will have a mix of policy makers, academicians and practitioners presenting their individual perspectives about the collective effect of a
triple-pronged approach for shaping up a vibrant geospatial sector in the country.
