Jana Chaudhuri was the first Czech female pianist to have had public concerts in India and since 2014 she performs here every year. Jana Chaudhuri presented special concerts on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of the great Indian poet and philosopher Rabindranath Tagore as well as Swami Vivekananda. She also began a unique project with Bharatanatyam dancer Rasabihari in which two dramatically different worlds of art meet and communicate – Indian Classical dance and European Classical music.
The program showcases works from some of the most famous European composers living in the 19th century in important centres of music of that time - Prague, Vienna, Warsaw, Paris & Moscow. You will also hear some of the finest pieces from the Czech piano repertoire, showing the richness of styles, tradition as well as the overwhelming influence of folklore.
The Piano Concert will be introduced by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic Milan Hovorka and presented by Jana's husband Maestro Debashish Chaudhuri who will speak about interesting connections between the pieces and the composers and thus make it a unique overall experience for the audience.
