  Indian perspective: While CleanTech is still a niche segment in India, investors foresee tremendous growth opportunities given the current Indian power generation deficit of 10, 3%. Investment attracted into CleanTech is poised to see a boom similar to IT industry in India.
European perspective: The EU’s 2020 target to source 20% renewable energy, 20% reduction in CO2 emissions and 20% improvement in energy efficiency by 2020. Capital investment in renewable energy almost doubled in 2011, reaching an estimated $40bn and accounting for one-third of estimated capital investment in Europe.

Mr. Bernard MATHIEU, Environmental Technologies Expert, at Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX), Brussels, Belgium.

Mr. Mathieu is a civil engineer chemist, has fifteen years of industrial experience in the field of environment. He also performs tasks within the FEB (Federation of Enterprises in Belgium), the European Association of co-processing EUCOPRO, World Business Council for Sustainable Development and gives classes at the ULg ( University of Liege) and ICHEC ( Brussels Management Business School) in environmental management. 


Prashant Maniar

Mr. Prashant Maniar is Managing Director of Encito Advisors, a boutique strategic and financial advisory firm, based in Mumbai India. The firm specializes in Energy and Environment sectors, providing SME clients advisory services for growth capital syndication via private equity (PE), mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and setting up International joint ventures (JV). Mr. Maniar has 17+ years experience in Energy, Environment and Technology industries during which he has consistently delivered successful results in operational and advisory roles. Previously, Mr. Maniar was Global Head of Energy & Environment at Alpheas Advisors, a boutique investment bank where he advised clients from water treatment, waste management, solar, hydro, wind, and biomass power industries. Earlier Mr. Maniar, while based in California USA, held the position of Cross-border practice head at Cipher Capital, one of India’s longest standing boutique investment banks, where he advised International clients on India entry strategies and Indian SME’s on inorganic growth strategies. Prior to that, he was co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Stratosphere Solutions, a company providing high-end semiconductor solutions to the world’s most advanced manufacturers to improve yield, where he was instrumental in signing up Fortune 50 companies as customers, raising capital and setting up global alliances.

Mr. Maniar holds a MBA, specializing in Entrepreneurship, from Santa Clara University (USA), a M.E. in Electrical Engineering from University of South Carolina (USA) and a B.E. in Electronics Engineering from Mumbai University (India). Mr. Maniar, has presented at many marquee conferences, writes articles on a regular basis and has participated as a judge in many reputed competitions such as Venture Capitalist Investment Competition 2011. He devotes considerable time mentoring entrepreneurs. Mr. Maniar is a TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) Charter Member and chair of the Clean Energy & Environment special interest group in Mumbai
