When there is a staging of a play based on the work of ‘India’s Dr Seuss’ Anushka Ravishankar, you can be sure that it will be a wonderfully entertaining event. Leon’s World Centre for Holistic Learning and Development is association with MTG | Astitva will stage the amazing story Catch That Crocodile by Anushka Ravishankar on the 2nd of September, 2018.
The story is a rather simple though quirky one. The story of course centers around the crocodile who one fine day suddenly appears in the center of the town. No one knows how it got there, but the immediate concern is to catch and get it back to the river. The various, and often times hilarious, characters of the village try numerous means and methods to catch the crocodile but to no avail. These village stalwarts include the village doctor, policeman and wrestler. When all else fail, it is one person, who could be least expected to succeed, who manages to get the crocodile back to the river. Who is this person? What does it take to catch a crocodile? Find out when you watch this play where the verse is rather nonsensical and very humorous.
The play was originally commissioned by the Kala Ghoda Children's Literature Festival 2014 in Mumbai. It has since been performed across various venues and schools in Mumbai, Kolkata, Dahanu, Heggodu, Bangalore, Mysore district, etc.
