Mothers nurture the child while fathers are the providers and give guidance in later years. These gender stereotypes have blurred over the years and today fathers are as n=much a part of their children’s early years as are their mothers. And we aren’t talking about just playing with the kids on a Sunday afternoon. The New Age dads take their role of parent very seriously and are involved in every aspect of their child’s growth and upbringing.
Parenting may be a thankless job at most times but on Father’s Day, 16th June, 2019, kids all over the country will celebrate their dads and appreciate their immeasurable contribution to their lives. The bond that every child shares with their father is unique and Father’s Day is the one day in the year when kid can really go all out and make it special for their Dads. After all, every father is a hero to their kids.
This year at Leon’s World Centre for Holistic Learning and Development at Rustomjee Urbania, fathers are invited to join the celebrations with their kids and literally live up to the status of being Super Heroes.
In keeping with the Super Hero theme of the day, fathers are encouraged to wear some apparel that is a nod to the super hero they see themselves as – it could be a T-shirt, cap, tie or even a badge! There is something planned for dada with kids in all age groups from tiny toddlers to teenagers.
Little kiddies will have fun with their dads in the Ball Pool, Block Building Game, Mini Play Slides, Guess The Animal or Cartoon Picture Game. Story telling will give the children and their dads a chance to reconnect with much loved tales.
Older children can participate in the arts and crafts workshops or clay play where they will sculpt their favourite super hero. The children are sure to enjoy Spin the Wheel where they can win exciting prizes. Dads can revisit their favourite childhood games with their children like sack race, relay, Tug of war, Lemon and spoon, Hogthon, hurdles and cones etc. There is no greater rush than having your kids cheer for you! Create lasting memories at the photo booth as well.
The day would not be complete without a screening of one of the greatest movies that celebrates the bond a child shares with his father and the loving guidance a father provides – The Lion King!
