About The Event

Boondon ka Paigham featuring Sufi & Ghazals by AAkriti Kakkar & Mohammed Vakil

With the weather hinting at monsoons, Hyderabad seems to have breathed a new life as well. We here at Cisne For Arts are excited to bring a zesty, new season of our musical extravaganza, Boondon Ka Paigham to spread this message of music and joy.

We would like you to join us and become a part of our music festival that has already established an enviable legacy in two short years. Boondon Ka Paigham is an inspired evening where a motley crew of musicians, artistes, music aficionados and entertainment make magic come alive on stage.

Akriti Kakkar

As a special treat to live-music, fusion-loving music lovers, we bring two very talented young musicians, Akriti Kakkar and Mohammad Vakil, this year. Known to render trendy chartbusters, Akriti found fame as a playback singer in movies such as Billu Barber, Golmaal Returns and Tere Bin Laden. A trained classical singer who has sung in over 15 different Indian languages, she is a powerhouse of talent.

At Boondon Ka Paigham, she will perform heartwarming Sufi selections in a brand new avatar. As an interactive, young singer, Akriti promises to enthrall Hyderabadis with live, fusion Sufi numbers in a breathtakingly new way.

Mohammad Vakil

Joining her on stage will be Mohammad Vakil, a young ghazal maestro who shines of promise and talent. Following his success as an upcoming ghazal singer, he soon forayed into film music with Veer Zaara. Although a winner of the Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy Award in 2001, he further explored the depth of ghazal sangeet by collaborating with artistes of international repute such as Bhupendra Hazarika, Talat Aziz, Jagjit Singh, Pankaj Udas, Shankar Mahadevan and Kavita Krishnamurthy amongst others. He often explores his creativity by introducing Western and Eastern musical instruments with ghazals.

Bringing new, talented, young musicians to Hyderabad has been our constant endeavor. We thrive on bringing the most exciting artistes and platforms to our city of tehzeeb and culture. By launching a studio-styled, live-music gig with Akriti and Vakil in August, we hope to gift you an experience that you will cherish for a very long time and can take back home.
