Bhavya Raj is a young indie pop singer and songwriter based out of the capital city of India, New Delhi.
Composing since 10 years of age and writing songs since 15, his songs are both in Hindi and English, and often bilingual too. His debut single – 'Spexy Girl ' got released in August 2015 with a music video and is now running on MTV Indies.
Bhavya's debut EP will be releasing worldwide on iTunes and other platforms in September 2016. He is a self-taught vocalist, drummer, guitarist and producer. He performs both solo and as a duo/trio where he is accompanied by a violinist/flautist/clarinet player and a percussionist.
Bhavya does renditions of popular artists like Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Kodaline, Daft Punk, Sam Smith, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong , Michael Jackson, Adele and A R Rahman along with his own originals . The duo set comprises a mellow set with a touch of Jazz.
The trio does a relatively more upbeat set covering new and popular numbers. Being hugely inspired by Michael Jackson, 'Pop' is one of his strongest genres. So is 'Blues/Hard Rock' owing to the fact that he's currently the vocalist/rhythm guitarist of a three-piece band called 'Leaftone'. They've played at college festivals like IIM Indore, O P Jindal University , Chitkara University, NSIT, Shaheed Bhagat Singh DU, Jamia Hamdard University, SRM University, ITM Gurgaon, and IIM Gurgaon.
In October 2015, Bhavya opened for Agnee band at OP Jindal University's annual cultural festival with his three-piece contemporary rock act, 'Leaftone'.
He has been invited on to Radio One 94.3 numerous times to pay tribute to artists such as Coldplay and the Grammy Nominations 2015.
