Baiju Dharmajan will be bringing his blend of Carnatic Rock to the iconic Someplace Else at The Park, Kolkata on March 15th as a part of the newly announced Mile Sur Mera Tumhara tour. Someplace Else has been hosting live acts virtually every day since it first opened about 20 years ago in 1994. Baiju last performed at Someplace Else in 2009 with his erstwhile rock band, Motherjane with whom he released two albums – Maktub (2008) and Insane Biography (2003)
The very next day on 16th March, Baiju will be performing at Jadavpur University Kolkata, where he’d also performed last year with his band Blue Fire featurning Sanjeev Thomas, Sanjay Maroo, Keith Peters and Ustad Asad Khan amongst other musicians. These two gigs, a part of the 4 city Mile Sur Mera Tumhara Tour, will be the first time that fans will witness the celebrated indian guitarist play his carnatic guitar version of the partriotic song Mile Sur Mera Tumhara. Kolkata, incidentally also happens to be Baiju’s favorite city to perform in, remarked Baiju in his latest interview with Coolage.
