ArtMantram Presents “Monsoon Showers” In Association with Hyatt, Bangalore
An Exhibition of paintings by contemporary Indian Artists to be held on 31st July 2013 at Hyatt, MG Road
Bangalore, Thursday, July 25, 2013: Art Mantram, the not-for-profit organization for promoting contemporary Indian art since 1999, is presenting “Monsoon Showers”- an exhibition of paintings by contemporary Indian artists in association with Hyatt, Bangalore on July 31st, 2013. The day will also witness the presentation of Mantram Women Achiever’s Award 2013 to three distinguished women- Arundhati Nag-the prominent South Indian actress and theatre personality, Surupa Sen-one of India’s most acclaimed choreographer and Odissi dancer from Nrityagram and Renu George- city’s renowned artist.
The work that is going to be showcased at “Monsoon Showers” will be works of contemporary masters and emerging artists from across the country. An amalgamation of creativities and myriad of hues, the show promises to showcase versatile and diverse artworks by these artists including the likes of Yusuf Arakkal, S.G. Vasudev, Arpana Caur, JMS Mani, Gyanesh Mishra, Kishore Roy, Rajesh Baderia, Anshuman Majumdar, Ganpati Hegde and Suresh.
Speaking about the association with Hyatt, Ms. Jija Harisingh, Founder of ArtMantram said, “We are grateful to Hyatt for supporting the cause of art and coming forward to associate for this exhibition. We will be organizing regular shows of established and upcoming artists at the Art Scape Corridor at Hyatt from September 2013.”

The highlight of day will be the presentation of the ArtMantram Women Achievement Awards 2013. Art Mantram has been honoring women for the last few years whose achievements have been exemplary in the fields of art, music, dance and theatre. Those who have been honored in the past include the likes of Vani Ganapathy, Rashmi Hegde, Poile Sengupta, Pushpa Dravid, Sara Arakkal, Anjolie Ela Menon, Shashi Deshpande amongst others. This year the awardees are Arundhati Nag-the prominent South Indian actress and theatre personality, Surupa Sen-one of India’s most acclaimed choreographer and Odissi dancer and Renu George- city’s renowned artist and Director of the Gallery-Time and Space.
