What: Artist Swarup Dutta, debuting at the Artisan Art gallery will be hosting his first show in Mumbai. The artisan gallery has organized a preview on the 7th March where the host Mr. Swarup Dutta will be talking about his exhibition “Armour of Weakness” and his photographs that will be displayed at the exhibition.
Swarup Dutta's Armour of Weaknesses shows bodies moving painfully in and out of expertly crafted bamboo structures as if slipping in and out of real and assumed identities. The bodies are androgynous. They do not conform to type, shape or size. Delicately poised on high heels, the dancers contort to fit into bamboo contraptions, while the artist-photographer relentlessly captures their struggle on camera.
