Partaking in the mission of positioning Pune as an art-friendly destination, Phoenix Marketcity Pune in association with Ink & Drink is all-geared to host ‘Art-A-Thon’, a week-long celebration to showcase and promote art in all its manifestations; painting, music, dance, literature and various other art forms! Starting on 3rd April 2017, the festival will feature a range of artists, art stalls, creative workshops, demonstrations and art installations at various locations in Phoenix Marketcity. One of the main highlight of Art-A-Thon will be the attempt to create Guinness Book of World Records for most number of contributions to a handprint painting and another activity ‘Largest Painting Party’, aiming for the Limca Book of Records. Event Details Date: 3rd April till 9th April 2017 (Monday to Sunday) Time: 11 am till 10 pm Venue: Phoenix Marketcity Pune Event Details – Day wise 3rd April: The festival begins with five design colleges showing off their skills through magnificent art installations at Phoenix Marketcity, Pune. 6th April: The art flea at Art-A-Thon kicks off in Liberty Square with vibrant art, craft and handmade products on display till the 9th of April, 2017. There will be a storytelling session, a linguistic delight through music and a host of workshops. 7th April: Friday fun activities like terracotta workshops, bottle painting etc have been organized. Also, the evening will witness Einstein, a theater show directed and enacted by Naseeruddin Shah 8th April: Several off-beat dance and music performances by the Tribe Vibe Dance Company, Misree (band) and many more are planned for the day. This day will also witness the Guinness Book of World Records attempt for the most number of contributions to a handprint painting from 1p.m- 9p.m at the South Entrance of the mall. 9th April: The closing day (Sunday) will see Largest Painting Party for an attempt to garner Limca Book of Records title. This attempt will involve 1000-1500 people painting on their own individual canvases. No experience is necessary to participate in this fun paint party with step-by-step instructions from our instructor and tips and suggestions from the assistants. All supplies will be provided including brushes, paint and canvas. Participants can take their own masterpiece home. The event will conclude with Three Beers Down performing to the tunes of A.R Rehman, an apt end to the art festival.
