About
Amboli is a small hill station near Sawantwadi nestled in the middle of western Ghats. It is known for its extraordinary diversity and is a paradise for Amphibian and Reptiles lovers. The monsoon season make this a great place for herpatofauna watching.
Common sightings include reptiles such as Malabar Pit Viper, Green Vine Snake, Olive Forest Snake, Beddomes Keelback, Banded Racer, Shieldtails, White-banded Gecko, Bombay Leaf-toed Gecko and Amphibians such as Malabar Gliding Frog, Amboli Bush Frog, Wrinkled Frog, Tiger Toad (Endemic to Amboli and Critically Endangered), Beddomes Leaping Frog, Cricket Frogs, Fungoid Frog and Caecilians.
Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival at Amboli by afternoon. Post lunch trail around campsite. Dinner.
Day 2 - Breakfast. Trail to Mahadev Gad. Lunch. Trails to Hiranyakeshi & Choukul Road. Dinner.
Day 3 - Breakfast. Trail to Choukul Sada. Lunch. Depart for Mumbai.
