About The Event

Overview:

Alang Fort has also known as Alangad a fort in Nashik district, Maharashtra, India.It is one of the three forts, the others being Madangad and Kulang, in the Kalsubai range of the Western Ghats. All three forts stand high with the towering height more than 4800 ft provides scenery that you will never forget. Being in the same region of the three forts its said climb to Kulag is the most difficult. On the way up to climbing, we come across patches of rock cut steps. It takes 6 hours to reach from Kulanwadi to the fort. On the fort to see around 5 water cisterns. From here we could also see Mahuli with the 3 pinnacles. One can also stay in the caves here.

Itinerary:-

 

1st Day:-

 

Departure at 12.00 a.m.

 

1.Reach Ambewadi by 4 am, take rest in the temple for 2-3 hrs.

 

2nd Day:-

 

  1. After breakfast starts towards Alang around 7.30am and reaches the base of rock patch by 10 a.m.
  2. Participants will have packed lunch till the time our leaders prepare the climbing setup.
  3. Climb the patch and reach on top by 4 pm. Reach top by 4 pm – enjoy the amazing evening from the topmost points with a spectacular view of summits of Kulang, Madan, Kalsubai.
  4. Keep luggage in the caves and explore the top of Alang fort quickly.
  5. Have Dinner.
  6. Sleeping arrangements in the Cave.

 

3rd Day:-

 

  1. Wake up Call at 5:30 a.m.
  2. After breakfast start descending, exciting rappel on the 70ft rock patch.
  3. Traverse to Madan, reach the climbing point.
  4. Have lunch, climb Madan, reach the summit and immediately start to descend.
  5. Back to COL, Have Dinner.
  6. Sleeping arrangements in the Cave.

 

4th Day:-

 

  1. Early morning wakeup call.
  2. After breakfast starts descending.
  3. Move towards Kulang gad.
  4. Have lunch, climb Kulang Fort, reach the summit and immediately start to descend.
  5. Back to base, have tea and start return journey.
  6. Dinner on the way back.
  7. Back to Pune by 11.00 p.m.

  4. Full sleeves clothes (compulsory)
  5. Sleeping Bag & Sleeping Mat /Carry Mat (compulsory)
  6. Trekking shoes with good grip (Strictly No – sandals, chappals, floaters)
  7. One extra pair of clothes (Optional)
  8. Any personal medicine (As per your doctor’s Suggestion)
