When databases get ever larger and larger, backing them up using traditional RMAN backupsets will quickly get unfeasible. Completing a backup requires too much time and resources, but more importantly the same also applies to restores. RMAN has always provided a solution as incrementally updated image copies, but they are much less manageable than backupsets. This presentation goes into detail on how to successfully implement incremental-forever database backup strategy together with a capable storage system like Netapp or ZFS Storage Appliance, and on how to build more advanced features on top that platform, like automation and cloning.
As the demand for Continuous Delivery and Cloud Computing increases, so to does the repetetive nature of DBA work. This is where automation can help you. One of the most popular Devops Tools for automation is Ansible. Ansible allows you to automate workflows using YAML an easy to use language, that can also serve as documentation. This session is a practical session where the presenters will implement basic DBA workflows using Ansible automation software. The presented examples will give the audience the necessary skills to get started with Ansible so that they can implement their own custom workflows and ultimately achieve Oracle database infrastructure as a code.
With Oracle 12c, database has got a new architecture-Multi-tenant. There is an enormous number of new features that are introduced with this new architecture. This presentation will introduce the attendees to Multi-tenant architecture, it's building blocks and how to manage it.
Oracle optimizer has evolved a lot in the recent versions of the databases. From 12cR2, the optimizer has undergone much significant change with the introduction of Adaptive query optimization. This presentation will let the attendees know the basics of query optimization moving on to how the new adaptive features work.
This session will give them in-depth knowledge on Oracle Database In-memory technology. This session will give them information about In-Memory concepts, techniques, implementation best practices.
Oracle 12c Release 2 have a wonderful new feature of Application container. This session will give you insight of application container and how it’s different from CDB. Also participants will learn how to use application container and it’s benefits.
