Effective planning is an important, but often misunderstood, part of any successful Agile project. This one-day training session on Agile planning and estimating provides techniques and approaches for project estimation and planning that are consistent with the core principles of agile methods like Scrum and Extreme Programming (XP).

About Agile Development and Scrum, in brief
How to estimate using story points and ideal days, and how to use estimation techniques such as Planning Poker
How and when to perform long-term release planning and short-term iteration planning using the concept of velocity
How to monitor performance against the plan
And, you will apply the Planning Poker estimation technique in a group exercise.
This training session is equally suitable for managers, programmers, testers, and anyone involved in estimating or planning a software development project.
Maya S, an Software Engineering and Process Consultant, has over 34 years of experience in the software industry and has worked with leading IT organizations including Tata Consultancy Services and IBM, India.
During her thirteen years with IBM, she led the Agile and Quality programs for the product development lab in India. While driving the Agile enablement initiatives, she has conducted numerous workshops on Agile Development methodology in India as well as other Asia-Pacific countries. She has extensive experience in coaching teams to implement and benefit from Agile and Lean techniques and in assessing their practice adoption levels for efficiency and effectiveness.
Maya has also been responsible for a number of process improvement efforts in the organizations she has served and has provided process consultancy to software units in Asia-Pacific, Africa and Europe.
