NIABI Best Practices Seminar Series
The Network of Indian Agri-Business Incubators (NIABI) invites all enthusiastic agripreneurs to participate in a seminar on Inspiring agribusiness start-ups LIVE through video conferencing on October 12, 2011 at 0930hrs.
The following are the distinguished speakers for the seminar who transformed others lives through their startup inititatives:
Dr Dinabandhu Sahoo, Project Chilika
Dr Dinabandhu Sahoo is a marine biologist who stepped out of his laboratory and into the real world. Through Project Chilika, Dr Sahoo has trained villagers in Orissa to ‘farm the ocean’ thus sowing the seeds of a true ‘Blue Revolution’-a new hope for millions across the world.
Mr Satyajit Singh, Shakti Sudha Industries
Mr Satyajit Singh was comfortably placed in life, distributing consumer durables. Yet, one fine day he shut down that business, to take on the challenge of commercialising makhana. In doing so, he has found a mission if life and brought benefits to thousands of marginalised farmers.
Mr Samar Gupta, Trikaya Agriculture
Mr Samar Gupta was a city boy with no burning ambition in life. But when life threw up a challenge, he decided to face it head on. Over the last decade Trikaya Agriculture has grown from a hobby into a flourishing business, ever expanding the frontiers of ‘what can be grown’ in India.
Registration for the seminar
Registration fee is Rs 500 per person and can be paid online. Registered participants will be contacted via email and further program details will be informed to them. Online Registration will close at 1700 hrs on October 11, 2011.

Network of Indian Agri-Business Incubators (NIABI) is a project from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for promoting agribusiness through technology commercialisation and nurturing innovations in agricultural sector. The Network consists of 10 agribusiness incubators across the country and is co-ordinated by the Agri-Business Incubation (ABI) Program of ICRISAT.
