Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) is a carefully constructed and a very effective science that it is being widely practiced over the five continents for the past 45 years. Hundreds of books have been written about it and thousands of people have been qualified as NLP practitioners. NLP was invented by John Grinder and Richard Bandler in the early 1970s. Though the name “NLP” sounds too technical and cumbersome, it comes from the three areas it brings together:
“What is NLP?” is a trick question as it cannot be pinned down to a single definition. NLP most importantly studies excellence and quality and it does so by looking at “how” outstanding individuals and organizations get outstanding results and “what works” for them. The vast ocean of NLP techniques has grown and continues to grow by adding the practical tools and methods generated by modeling exceptional people. In order to model, NLP studies how each one of us structures our subjective experiences – how we think, believe and create our emotional states, how we construct our internal world from our experience and how we give it a meaning. NLP brings about self-development and change through self awareness.
Essentially, NLP is most importantly about YOU and how YOU operate. It is about your experience – how you know the world around and everyone in it, how you do what you do and how you create your own reality with its heights, depths and colours. It is about understanding what your preferred styles of thinking and learning are. NLP at large is about living your everyday life with balance and awareness. Learning NLP is an exciting opportunity to understand how you communicate verbally and non-verbally with others and to understand the effects of your communication on others. It is a place to consciously study the natural process of learning and how and why we do it; it is also about consciously studying the process of 'not learning' and how and why we manage to do that.
Having said that, "What do you want?" is the definitive question in NLP. NLP makes you consciously understand what is it that you want, why do you want what you want and whether you should want it or not. 'NLP outcomes' are different from targets, goals and objectives because they meet certain conditions that make them more realistic because they have been carefully considered and ecologically checked.
NLP is more than its specific ways and techniques. It is a vast ocean of knowledge. It is an attitude, a frame of mind, a way of looking at things and thinking based on curiosity, exploration, fun and a determination to learn and excel. It is based on how people actually behave rather than theories about why they do what they do. Thus NLP is grounded in reality, not speculation. The tools that NLP offers are based on “what works”, so they deliver “what works.”
This course gives you a chance to rediscover all those important things that you have always known at a very deeper level. We do not specifically cover hypnotism, therapy and other aspects of psychology better covered by more eminently qualified individuals in our workshop due to time constraints. NLP has its exclusive vocabulary often perceived as “technical” and “torturous”. We present you NLP in a simple, everyday language so it can be easily understood. Our focus here lies entirely on experiential learning. An adequate amount of time is set aside for activities, de-briefs, question/answer sessions, personal attention and coaching. We assure the establishment of a complete safe space, wherein no question is too stupid to ask and where individuals can openly deal with even the affected areas in their lives without bearing guilt or shame. The work we do aims at the creation of a tangible shift—a breakthrough, thus empowering individuals in a way that they can relate comfortably and powerfully with their own selves enabling them to explore their full potential in every sphere of life. At a personal level, through the course of our workshop, we facilitate in the establishment of unbreakable good habits within the group. Participants shall discover their own core strengths and learn to practice them time and again so as to become resourceful in the face of major-life changing events. They will also learn to effectively focus on attaining goals by using specific tools.
