Each Regional RoundTable will be characterized by two focussed activities -a Panel Discussion featuring key stakeholders in the startup ecosystem and an Open House where entrepreneurs, for the first time, will be given the opportunity to ask any question to any panelist and engage in meaningful discussions and not just be a spectator.
The idea is to have an absolutely open interaction over the topic of discussion, which will be – ‘Out of the Garage, Into the Market.’ Most product technology companies face a lot of teething problems with respect to their go-to-market strategies. There are no ‘one-size-fits-all’ solutions and hence, it’s an area where entrepreneurs need all the help that they can get and much more. Through the collective might of a panel full of ‘rockstars’, the TechSparks Regional RoundTable intends to support startups by helping them kickstart their product’s journey. In short, the RoundTable intends to help startups get their products ‘out of the garage and into the market.’

Story Behind TechSparks
YourStory has been in existence for about two and a half years now and one of the questions that we get to hear all the time is – where is India’s Google? That India doesn’t have too many successes in the product tech space is true. You could probably count them on the fingers of one hand. Some of you might not even get started with that count.
But there are a number of product tech startups doing some fantastic work here in India.
“If that’s the case, how come we never hear about them?” is the retort, usually.
Product tech startups are a brave bunch. Apart from the teething problems that most startups undergo, they face the vicious circle of requiring funding to create the product and being asked to create the product to procure funding. And even if they manage to make the prototype and get on board a few paying customers, they’re seldom able to scale. So, what are the factors that stop Indian product tech startups from realizing their potential?
Well, from our interaction with the 6000+ tech ventures in our reach, we’ve noticed that access to funding, market linkages and visibility within the ecosystem are the biggest challenges.
We at YourStory believe that TechSparks 2011, as a platform bringing together VCs, angel investors, CXO-level corporates from the technology sector and the mainstream media, can serve as a launchpad for Indian product tech startups. The idea is to get them access to genuine support, create an amicable atmosphere for substantive networking and eventually, enable nation-wide recognition.
TechSparks 2011 is committed to helping startups with their go-to-market strategies and setting the stage for startup stardom. So, what are you waiting for? Let us lead you to the limelight that matters. Register for TechSparks 2011.
