About The Event

Sandhan valley is a part of beautiful Sahyadri mountain range located at  the North End of Kalsubai Harishchandragad Wild Life Sanctuary. Surrounded by forts like Ratangad, Alang-Madan-Kulang (popularly known as AMK), and Kalsubai (highest peak in Maharashtra) Sandhan Valley is a naturally carved slit that barely separates  its cliffs by 3-5 feet, at some places, and is more than 150 feet  deep, stretched for almost 1.5  km.

Because of such geology, the Sunlight does not reach the base of valley, even on bright sunny day. Thus it goes by the name “Valley Of Shadows”. The trek Starts from the base village Samrad. To reach camping site one has to descend down the valley, through boulders, crossing the 3-4 feet deep water body, twice, and rappel down the cliffs at two places.
