About The Event

The sensational progress in information technology in recent times has made rapid development possible while also offering huge benefits to humans. Communications, research and business transactions have become easier and faster. However, these benefits are also accompanied by public fears about the potential scale of criminal opportunities that can arise. High tech cyber crime presents unique challenges to law enforcement agencies, since cyber criminals can steal from us, comfortably sitting in a remote corner of the world. In such a scenario, secret information, financial resources and confidential data can be easily compromised. These fears worry the minds of a very large number of people, entering cyber space. Cyber crimes do not respect international borders.

The law enforcement agencies need to evolve a system that looks into various aspects of computer or digital crime and design new investigation techniques that stand up to legal scrutiny. Manufacturers of electronic devices are continually updating the security features in their products like encryption, digital signatures, biometrics, etc, which make financial transactions on the network relatively safer.

With technology evolving, mutating and changing at such a rapid pace, the rules governing application of cyber forensics to the fields of auditing, security and law enforcement are changing as well. Almost daily, new techniques and procedures are being designed to provide info security professionals a better means of finding electronic evidence, collecting it, preserving it and presenting it to the client management for potential use in the prosecution of cyber criminals as also to build better safeguards in the future.

This seminar will enlighten participants about the latest I.T. security systems, tools, probabilities of internet frauds, collecting electronic evidence of such misuse and evolving future strategies to combat cyber crimes.
