The basic objective of discipline is that the rules and regulations of the company are observed in letter and spirit. Through effective discipline management, the desirable standards of behaviour & code of conduct is ensured. In case of indiscipline, the proceedings have to be fair and just. There are legal procedures involved. The managers should know legal and HR aspects of discipline management and disciplinary action so that the actions taken by him are without fear or favour.


Labour law is the body of laws, administrative rulings, and precedents which address the legal rights of, and restrictions on, working people and their organizations. As such, it mediates many aspects of the relationship between trade unions, employers and employees. Labour Laws harmonize many angles of the relationship between trade unions, employers and employees. The goal of labour law is to bring both the employer and the employee on the same level, thereby mitigating the differences between the two ever-warring groups.

Faculty profile: Mr. Srinivasan

Mr. Srinivasan has a Masters Degree in Law, Human Resource Management and a PG Diploma from Indian Society of Training and Development (ISTD).

He is also a certified professional in Cyber Laws. He is an accredited Management teacher by AIMA.

He has more than two decades of industrial experience serving organizations of repute such as Enfield, Sree Karpagambal Mills and Mettur Beardsell Ltd to name a few. While leaving Enfield, he was the General Manager - HR.

He has more than two decades of consulting experience and has been extensively involved in all H.R, I. R and Training activities. He has also contributed many HR related articles in magazines.
