In this fast integrating world economy, as the competition gets fiercer at the global level, organisations are forced to reinvent the way in which they operate. The more progressive companies modify their go-to-market strategies. Many of them collaborate with trading partners to increase top-line revenue growth; optimise their value chains to reduce costs; embrace business process outsourcing; and self-fund projects for rapid ROI.
As a consequence of all these global developments, the global supply chains have had to evolve at an aggressive pace. And even as the world makes progress by leaps and bounds in supply chain management and logistics, there is a dire need for dramatic transformation in India.
Gateway Knowledge Forum has taken on the mandate of helping India keep pace with the rest of the world. India SCM and Logistics Summit 2011 is the first event of its kind and seeks to help Indian players bridge the gap between the global supply chain industry and the regional logistics sector. The forum’s endeavour is to help the logistics service providers and supply chain professionals in customising to local requirements and at the same time adhering to global benchmarks and standards logistics services. The aim is to equip the delegates of the India SCM and Logistics Summit 2011 to appreciate how a robust SCM strategy is especially important when there is a geographical, functional or sectorial integration – and also to equip them with the understanding and skills to develop a winning strategy for themselves.
