About The Event

"Activity before Concept, Concept before Vocabulary". That is how you should learn science. Selected 25 experiments/activities from syllabus of physics, chemistry and biology for the class 10th to help students learn science through experiment. These experiments will help them learn concepts better and forever.  You will conduct variety of experiments  like

  • Prepare a temporary mount of Rheo leaf and observe under a microscope for chloroplasts.
  • Preparing temporary mounts of leave peel, root tips, etc. and compare the structure of cell.
  • Flame test for reactivity of metals.
  • Water of crystallization.
  • Formation of different colours by mixing primary colours in different intensities and observing those primary colour components and peak intensities using spectrometer.
  • Separating different colours from a given light using colour filters and observing the loss of a particular wavelength peak using spectrometer.
  • Observe the root tips for evidence of mitosis.
  • Light decomposition of Silver chloride in silver and chlorine.
  • Reactivity of sodium with water.
  • Analyze the effect of moisture and air on corrosion.
  • Splitting of light spectrum and measure the intensity using Spectrometer.
  • Iodine test for presence of starch in a variegated leaf.
  • Observe the growth of meristematic tissues in onion bulbs.
  • Experiment to show chlor alkali process.
  • Determine how different colours absorb and re-emit radiant (light) energy, and to calculate the rate of energy flow.
  • Flame test for carbon compounds: Observe the nature of the flame and note whether smoke is produced.
  • Electrical decomposition of H2O - Electrolysis of water.
  • A neodymium magnet is swung just above an empty can. The eddy current produced makes the can dance along with the swinging magnet.
  • Determine the ability of yeast to use different types of carbohydrates—sucrose and starch— for fermentation.
  • Grow yeast under aerobic and anaerobic conditions and measure carbon dioxide output to assess metabolic efficiency.
  • Experiment to show anodizing reaction to protect the metallic surface from oxidation.
  • Analyse the force exerted on a current carrying wire by a magnetic field.
  • Make a device to detect the presence and magnitude of electric charge on a body.
  • Analyse the force exerted on a current carrying wire by a magnetic field.
  • Reaction of ethnol and ethanoic acid in the presence of concentrated Sulphuric Acid.

When you go back to your classroom, you would find understanding the concept easier, you would learn it faster, better and forever.

Number of experiments: 25

Duration:  6 days, 4 hour session each day.
