Rev.Rayappa-Founder of TGHM, in his twenties felt the call of God. Then he left his business completely, started a house fellowship by calling the neighbors who stayed near to the house in the name of ‘Maranatha Prayer House’ (MPH). He started with a small group of members, as the days passed this house fellowship started to grow. Space constraints led Rev. Rayappa to build a hut to worship. As the small group started to multiply, the burden also multiplied and hence June 22nd, 1984 saw the birth of “THE GATE OF HEAVEN MISSION” (TGHM).
