TAD Arts Pvt Ltd, in association with BMW, presents a group art exhibition titled 100,000 (One Hundred Thousand).
The exhibition has been conceptualized as a one-stop exhibition for art enthusiasts and connoisseurs. Truly an exhibition with a difference, where prices of the artworks are fixed at one hundred thousand. The oeuvres d' art chosen for this exhibition have been especially created for the exhibition and comprise names of some well known artists who are specially creating artworks to cater to the price bracket of 100,000. It being the first show in the country without a price list, adds to the mystery.
The exhibition provides a platform for talent, both new and established. It is also an incredible opportunity for art connoisseurs to purchase art from an art show, where the discounts are already planned within the reduced price of Rs.100,000.
'One Hundred Thousand' is an exhibition where the title had been conceived long before the process. Why I stress on the title is because of the many elements attached to it - various roadblocks while executing my ideas and rolling them into action; a pre-conceived myth attached to the title that did not elicit the expected response. I doggedly determined onwards, for I truly believed that this was one exhibition that would break away from the stereotype that price is a benchmark that one should not mention, when talking of Art.
'Collecting artworks from all across the country, from artists of repute at this price bracket, was the most difficult yet the most interesting part of organising this exhibition. Thus, I present you this show of spectacular forms, magnificent textures and myriad hues that to me define the very meaning of growing Indian contemporary art - 'One Hundred Thousand', conceptualized as a one-stop exhibition without a price list', says the Curator- Niten Mehta.
