Yoga Dance Therapy
The Healing of Yoga and Bliss of Dance
Yogadance Therapy™ (YDT) is based on the systematic application of yogic principles to the art of dance, combining a
movement-oriented sequence of asanas and purification techniques. It is inspired by three world dance traditions – Indian classical dance, ballet and contemporary dance – and is an integrative art form based in the philosophy of Ayurveda and the five elements. The postural patterns are combined with dance to create body-mind awareness and craft movement patterns for therapeutic choreography.
In this workshop, we will also explore the theory of five elements and the Chinese oracle. According to which Each individual, word, movement, place and everything else in existence has a special energetic fingerprint along with a unique blend of all 5 elements. We will utilize this wisdom to choreograph a therapeutic dance theater experience!
