Workshop on improving quality through 5S - Understanding and Implementation Strategy

5S is a technique used to organize a workplace by making it more visual, safer, and free of clutter. The 5S concept began in Japan as seiri, seiso, seiton, seiketsu, and shitsuke, terms that closely correlate to sort, shine, set in order, standardize, and systematize (or sustain). 5S techniques help in reduction of non-value adding and wasteful practices in organizations apart from improving good housekeeping. In a nutshell, 5S involves cleaning up any work area and work flow with the intent to improve efficiency by eliminating waste and getting it organized. It may sounds so simple, however practicing these techniques need complete commitment and dedication.
