Surya Kriya is an ancient form of Hata Yoga practice. It is a powerful process which activates the Sun within. Surya Kriya is designed as a complete practice towards one’s physical health, psychological balance, wellness and complete inner wellbeing. The 21 step Surya Kriya is the fundamental or the original practice and the 12 step Surya Namaskar is a diluted version of Surya Kriya. Surya Kriya is a much refined process which needs enormous attention in terms of the geometry of the body.
Surya Kriya is to be practiced as slowly and gently as possible, with full focus and attention on the movements of the body and the breath. Hence, anybody above 14 years of age can learn and practice Surya Kriya (Except pregnant woman and people who have undergone major surgery in the last six months).
