About The Event

Organic Farming Championship 2014 is a one day event, which would train the school students in the nuances of organic farming. The workshop is an attempt to train the kids to develop sensitivity and understanding towards the nature and farming.

 

One of the major impacts of globalization has been that people are forgetting the traditional practices of agriculture and farming, which has resulted in the decreasing health and fitness of people. The Organic Farming Championship 2014 would expose the school kids from across various schools  towards nature and farming.

 

At the end of the event the kids would develop a gratitude, know the source of the food they eat, the hard work involved by the farmer, organic of way agriculture, food life cycle, nature and environment issues, etc.

 

The Active Farm School, was started to provide hands on knowledge to learners in general and School children in particular about Agriculture, Farm Technology and Food processing. This event aims to engage children into nature and aims to focus on students from class 7 to 12 from any Schools.

 

The kids would be provided training on Organic Farming and would be made to compete in the trays given by us growing the crops in organic way.The training session would take place on 31st May or June 1st 2014 and the kids would be called back with the grown crops on August 15 2014 at 2pm to the Active Farm School campus for final evaluation to compete for Gold, Silver and Bronze medal.

 

 

Highlights:

 

Gold medal for winner, Silver medal for runner & Bronze medal for second runner.

All participants will get a certificate.

Seminars from Organic Agriculture & Sustainable living Experts.

Jury members from repute Agriculture University.

For Participant Parents & Participants

 

What is this competition?

A: OFC 2014 shall enable your child to learn about hands-on farming based on organic agriculture, healthy living, sustainable living, farming, farmer & crops life cycle. He/she shall compete with other School children.

 

What my child will get?

A: Training on how to farm in organic way, tray to do farming, seeds, organic manure & pests control & on evaluation day: Chance to participate for Gold, Silver or Bronze medal, a T Shirt, can interact with other experts & chance to present their knowledge to Organic experts.

 

How do we register for my child?

A: If your child is between grade 7 (now, 6 complete) & 12 grade(Comaplete), aged between 13  & 17. Click here to register:

 

How much is the registration Fee?

A: Rs.1500/- is registration fee. Non refundable or non transferable.

 

What my child will get for participation fee?

A: Knowledge on 65 crops, feeding domestic animals, rice mill, milk toning machine, bread making & OFC: Organic AgricultureTraining, Tray to crop, soil, manure, seeds, online support during the cropping, T Shirt, Certificate of participation, Lunch for training day & Snacks for evaluation day.

What are the Payment Methods?

What kind food/ other details are provided on training day?

A: Only vegetarian, hygienically cooked at the campus. RO filtered & treated drinking water is provided.  Clean washrooms are our commitment.

 

Can Parents come to the event?

A: Parents can come. Accesses to parents for many areas are restricted, can sit in tent structure or other permitted areas only. Can have food on cost basis. Drinking water is provided.
