Padmashri Hariharan in Exclusive Ghazal Concert

The historic Chowmohalla Palace will ring with the sounds of Ghazals sung by Padma Shri Hariharanon the 23rd December. The magnificent Palace was the official residence of the Nizams and it was here that visitors were entertained. The walls of the Palace will ring to the sound of music byHariharan. Hariharan was inspired by the songs of Mehdi Hassan and Jagjit Singh and learnt Urdu when he decided to become a ghazal singer. Hariharan developed a passion for ghazals and started training in Hindustani music from Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. He used to put in thirteen hours of singing practice everyday.

Hariharan is one of the foremost Indian ghazal singers and composers with more than thirty albums to his credit. In his early career, he cut several successful ghazal albums, writing most of the scores himself. One of Hariharan's first ghazal albums was Aabshar-e-Ghazal.  Another of his albums Gulfamnot only hit double platinum in sales but also fetched Hariharan the Diva Award for the Best Album of the Year in 1994. His live concert recordings, Hariharan in Concert (1990), Saptarishi (1996) and SwarUtsav (2001) were run away successes.

Listen to the Ghazals by Hariharan in the historic setting of the Chowmohalla Palace and be spellbound by the beauty of the palace and the voice that takes you on a journey through paradise.
