About The Event

Satguru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (AMMA) needs no introduction. Mata Amritanandamayi Devi a distinguished and beloved humanitarian is known throughout the world as “AMMA” and esteemed internationally  for her tireless efforts on behalf of global peace, for her commitment to education and for the far-reaching impact of Her charitable organizations in relieving poverty and human suffering in India and around the world. Her renowned charitable foundation, Mata Amritanandamayi Math, leads and supports humanitarian projects and services ranging from housing assistance, medical care, disaster relief, orphanages and educational institutions. 

Apart from humanitarian & charitable activities, Math is also involved in spreading spiritual awareness around the world. As a part of the spiritual awareness program the Math is celebrating Guru Poornima in an elaborate way, on Tuesday 19th July 2016 from 5:30am to 1pm. The full moon day in the Hindu month of Ashad is observed as the auspicious day of Guru Poornima, a day sacred to the memory of the great sage Vyasa. On this day all spiritual aspirants and devotees worship Vyasa in honor of his divine personage and pay tribute to the Guru Parampara. 

The festivities will start with Maha Ganapathy Homam and Navagraha Homam followed by the traditional Guru Paduka Pooja. The Maha Sarvaiswarya Yagnam will be performed next for world peace and harmony. This will be followed by Maha Arathi and Maha Prasadam.
