Dasara dolls or the ‘Gombe Habba' is a very unique tradition practiced during the Dasara festivities. The dolls are arranged depicting various scenes from the epics nanely the Ramayana or the Mahabharata. In the olden days, this ritual was practised in ever other household in the old parts of Bangalore. But today sadly with the advent of modern life style, not many have the time to set up these displays.
Bengalurubyfoot is proud to announce the only walk of it's kind in Bangalore which takes guests to view Dasara dolls at three different places in Basavanagudi. Come know more about the different displays, “Pattada Gombe” (Raja Rani dolls) as well as other rituals and traditions associated with these dolls.
In one of the houses the theme this year is on Krishna & the three stages of his life namely-Nanda Gokula, Dwarka & Kurukshetra. Some light snacks and savories are served as prasad at these homes, however we have also included a nice South Indian meal as part of this walk. Bring your children & let them know about this vanishing tradition of ours.
We need a minimum of two people to conduct this walk for you anytime between 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The walk duration is off about 2.5 hours. The cost of the walk is 600/- with a 50% discount for senior citizens above 60 & for children between the ages of 9-16.
