On the eve of the Second World Bicycle Day on 3rd June which was announced last year by United Nations and also World Environment Day falling on 5th June, SmartBike in collaboration with Hyderabad Bicycling Club, All India Bicycling Federation and World Cycling Alliance is organising a major cycling event at National Academy of Construction, HITEX at 7 am on the 06th of July, 2019.
This is the second year that the World Bicycle Day is being observed and we want to do it in a befitting manner. This event will have participation of thousands of cyclists on the Traffic Free roads of National Academy of Construction Campus and HITEX.
We had a major event in New Delhi in 2018 on the 1st World Bicycle Day which was flagged off by our Honourable Vice President of India, Sri Venkaiah Naidu at Charkha Museum, Connaught Place in the presence of Dr Harshvardhan and Sri Vijay Goel, Hon’ble Union Ministers, Miss World Ms. Manushi Chillar, Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi, MP, and many other important Personalities from the Govt of India. About Five Thousand cyclists from all walks of life participated in this event.
This major cycling event is expected to motivate more and more people to take to cycling which will help reduce the vehicular pollution menace in Hyderabad. There will be a 5 km & 10 Km ride for the participants starting from the venue. All the participants will be given T Shirts, Sling Bags, Bibs and Breakfast. The ride will be supported with enroute Cookies & Water stations, ambulance support etc.
