About The Event

Ticket sales online are closed for the day, BUT you can register on site. See you there.

We welcome you this April 30th to our International Tabletop Day Celebrations at the YWCA, Colaba. That’s right! We’re holding an all day event to celebrate tabletop gaming!

On the 30th of April, we will be hosting a Catan tournament. After the tremendous response we had last year, we have dedicated a separate AC room just to play Catan. You must pre-register for the tournament, as there will be limited seats. The first prize is either a copy of the Catan base game and its 5-6 player extension or (if you already own the game) any Catan expansion (Seafarers/Explorers/Traders/Pirates) and the corresponding 5-6 player extension

But do not worry if you get eliminated in the tournament. You can continue to play Catan and its expansions and for every win, you get an entry in the main raffle. There will be multiple prizes in the main raffle. The Catan Tournament runs from 10 am to 6 pm.

We will also be hosting a 12 hour long boardgaming marathon with board gaming classics such as El Grande, Mission Red Planet, Descent 2nd Edition, Agricola, Dominion, Goa, Peurto Rico,  Libertalia, and new board games such as Concordia, Camel Up, Big Book of Madness, Quadropolis, The Hare and the Tortoise, Castles of Mad King Ludwig among others. The full list is at the end of the listing. The gaming marathon runs from 10 am to 10 pm.

We will be having our regular raffle. This time around, there will be multiple games up for grabs. As usual, you win an extra entry into the raffle for each game you win on the day, so come in early, and win, win, win!

We will be having snacks with hot and cold beverages throughout the day.

Bring your friends and family, and spend a day thrilling to new games and old.

Please read the event details below and the FAQ before buying any tickets.

1) Is the event airconditioned?

Yes. Both the halls are airconditioned.

2) Is this event open for newcomers?

  • The Catan event is only open to people experienced with the game.
  • The 12 hour boardgame marathon is open to anyone, young or old, new or experienced. We will teach you the rules for each game before you start, and you can try any game whose theme or mechanics you find interesting.
  •  No children under 12 years are permitted for the Catan tournament.
  •  No children under 14 are permitted for the 12 hour boardgame marathon.

3) Where is the hall located exactly?

The hall is located a two minute walk away from Regal Cinema. You can find it on Googlemaps. If you are at the gate of the National Gallery of Modern Art, you will notice St. Anne's School across the road. To the right of St. Anne's school is the YWCA Hall.

4) Are there ID requirements to enter the event?

You need to have some identification.

5) What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

You can take buses or cabs from CST or Churchgate to the venue. Fare is a little over the minimum.

6) What can/can't I bring to the event?

Food and beverages will be provided at the venue. You may bring your own; We encourage a sense of pot-luck and sharing. We will not allow bags around gaming tables due to lack of space.

7) Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

No. It is not transferable. We apologize for the inconvenience.

8) Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Either a printout or a pdf of your ticket on your smartphone will just do fine

9) What is the refund policy?

No refunds. We apologize for the inconvenience.

10) The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

A typo like Jyot for Jyoti is understandable, but a Ramanujan Mukherjee is not Ramdas Kharkare.

11) Is there a code of etiquette?

You may follow these rules, so you make the overall experience fun and lively for others.

  1. Do not leave in the middle of a game. Most of the games will be short games with timings of a half hour to a little over two hours. If you have to leave early for any reason, do not play any of the longer games. You may ask the organisers to suggest a shorter game for you to join instead.
  2. Pay attention when a game is explained. All of the rules will be covered during the explanation. You can ask questions once the organiser is done explaining.
  3.  This is neither a dating event nor a competition. Do not misbehave or be caustic with any members of the same or opposite sex. In the event of any misbehaviour, you will be immediately debarred from the event. There will be no excuses accepted nor any money refunded.
