About The Event

 

We are announcing SPACE Astro Podcast Contest 2016, starting from August 10 on Astronomy theme. 

By participating in the Competition, students will broadcast their talents on online media platform, which has a large number of global audiences. Students will choose an innovative topic, develop it with speech and expression and upload it online.

By participating in the Competition, students will be using their skills in educative research to broadcast their podcast on online platform, which has a large number of global audiences. A student can choose an innovative topic, develop it with speech and expression and upload it online, which can educate others with empirical methods of learning Science.

Please read the below given guidelines thoroughly before registration, failing which may terminate your participation. 

REGISTRATION 

Starting Date: August 10, 2016
Last date of Registration: August 31, 2016 



 

  • Shoot an astronomy/ Space Science based themed video
  • Post on online platforms (facebook/youtube), keeping Privacy Settings as Public, by tagging @SpaceTechnology&Education (for facebook) or @spacetv (for youtube) and using hashtags #SPACE, and #ThinkShootUpload


GUIDELINES

PARTICIPATION

  • One participant can submit only one podcast.
  • A Team can create the video but registration will be ACCEPTED for one individual only.
  • No Team registration will be accepted.

VIDEO FORMAT

  • .mpeg, .mov, .avi, .mp4, etc.  

VIDEO DURATION

  • 150 seconds minimum and up to 300 seconds maximum.

THEME

  • The theme should address or explain any astronomical or space science phenomena or principles.
  • The theme should not describe any scientists, life histories or achievements etc.
  • Any scientific aids or models can be used to explain the concept.

VIDEO SHOOTING PARAMETERS

  • The video can be shoot using a webcam, phone video recorder, video camcorders, digital cameras and DSLR.
  • Audio needs to be clear and audible.
  • Professional studio assistance is NOT allowed.

VIDEO EDITING

  • Common and easily available softwares can be used for editing.
  • Editing is optional.

NOTE The podcasts will be judged on the originality of the idea, science content, clarity of the concept and its delivery along with usage of aids.

AWARDS

The awards will be given on two different levels, Pan India and City, individually in all the below mentioned three categories:

  • Maximum Number of Likes
  • Most Creative Video
  • Most Innovative Topic

Result Announcement: First week of September, 2016 

Winners from all the award winners will get a Certificate and a Binocular. And special mention during felicitation ceremony during SPACE Annual Meet (SAM) 2016.
