Entrepreneurship is driver of any country’s economy. This is the topmost contributor leading to economic progress of a country. Business Plan Competition’s importance is to create a seed in students mind towards adopting entrepreneurship as a career. Through it they learn nuances of how to formulate a Business Plan, bring forth their creative and innovative self, understand and learn the critical process of resource mobilization in Entrepreneurship. This also generates confidence in them about starting an Enterprise.
About the Event
Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC), DIAS in its constant endeavor to identify, support and nurture the entrepreneurial streak amongst the students is ORGANISING LEZZARO - 2021, an Inter College Business Plan Competition with the objective of enabling students to ‘think out of the box’ and showcase their innovative ideas and skills to a panel of eminent panel of external experts. The key to success is a well thought out Business plan. Students get to present their UNIQUE IDEAS to the experts, and get them critically evaluated. It is often said that all successful corporations started with small ideas.
Format of Competition
Competition will consist of two rounds.
Round1
Each participating Team will be required to submit a soft copy of an Executive Summary in a PDF format not exceeding three pages (2000 words). The summary should be specific and should cover the following points:
1.Pain points that your product / solution addresses
2.Team- responsibilities shared by each member of team and how the person is best suited for role.
3.Uniqueness of the product or service or technology
4.Scope of revenue generation from this business opportunity.
5.Market Opportunity
6.Competition
7.Financials (Initial Investment & Working Capital)
8.Strategy of Execution
Round 2 (Business Plan Presentation)
Top Ten short listed teams of Round 1 will move to Round 2. Each team is required online presentation of 5 minutes duration followed by Q&A of 3 to 5 minutes. Esteemed external panel will vet the presented plans.
The winners will be decided by presenting of information as listed in Round 1 with following additional elaboration of:
1. Business Potential of The Idea
a. Market interest from potential partners or clients demonstrated.
b. Market size and potential growth realistically appraised.
2. Customer’s Buying Decision
a. Customer Key Performance Indicators (KPI) discussed.
3. Competition
a. Competitors and competing technologies identified and defined.
b. Strengths of the technology against competitors compelling.
4. Commercialization Strategy
a. Business model and “go to market” strategy options clearly outlined.
5. Avenues for Financial Resources
Rules
The team may be represented by a minimum of 1 member and maximum 3 members.
Multiple teams from the same Institute can participate.
Team members can be students who are currently pursuing Graduation/Post-graduation/Doctoral programs or have successfully completed any of the above programs within the last one year.
