 Kedarkantha Trek

 
Brief Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Sankri
• Altitude: 6,300 ft.
• 198 km drive - approx. 7-8 hrs.
 
 
• Trekkers will be picked from Dehradun railway station or ISBT bus stand at 6:00 AM.
• Expected arrival time at Sankri – 4:00 pm
• Erratic BSNL and Vodafone network.
 Day 2: Sankri to Juda-ka-Talab
• Altitude: 6,300 feet to 9,200 feet
• 4 km trek, approx. 4-5 hrs.
• The trail passes through dense pine forests, maple trees, few streams and finally, opens out to beautiful meadows and the Frozen Juda lake in winter.
• Stay in tents.
 Day 3: Juda-ka-Talab to Kedarkantha Base
• Altitude: 9,200 feet to 11,250 feet
• 4 km trek, approx. 3-4 hrs.
• Most of today’s trail is under oak trees
• You will also pass through some meadows where you can spot shepherd log huts
• Peaks: - Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Nag and Ranglana stand among the others.
• Stay in tents
 
 
Day 4: Kedarkantha base to Kedarkantha peak; descend to Juda-ka-Talab via Hargaon
• Altitude: 11,250 feet to 12,500 feet to 9,200
• 8 km trek, approx. 8 hours
• Spend some time at the summit and descend back to the base camp by noon for lunch
• Post lunch, descend to Hargaon camp
• Reach Hargaon by evening
• Stay in tents
 Day 5: Juda-ka-Talab to Sankri
• Altitude: 9,200 feet to 6,300 feet
• 4 km trek, approx 3 hours
• Descend 2500 feet through dense pine forests
 Day 6: Departure day (Sankri to Dehradun)
• Distance: 198 km drive, approx 7 hours
• You will be dropped at Dehradun railway station by 6 pm.
