This workshop is intended to give a peek into the ongoing active areas of research in astronomy, in particular, areas where the IIT Bombay Physics Department is making great strides. This includes detection of transients, who’s analysis can teach us a lot about many phenomena, as well as the cosmic whispers- Gravitational Waves (GW). FInally we will talk about the Electromagnetic Counterparts to Gravitational Waves (EMGW), an important aspect of multi-messenger astronomy.
