About Gond Art
The Gonds are the tribal community mostly found in the Gond forests of the central India. They are widely spread in Madhya Pradesh.Gond paintings are a form of painting from folk and tribal art that is practiced by one of the largest tribes in India with whom it shares its name. Gond comes from the Dravidian expression, Kond which means 'the green mountain'. Owning to this belief the Gond tribals traditionally painted their homes, mud walls and floors during festivals and marriages using colored muds. Initially, they used to do it as a decorative and symbolic art which could fight of evil and invite optimism,hence the forms of gond art are also very simple and yet expressive in their own way.
What you'll learn in this workshop?
In this workshop they will learn to draw these stylised character and , paint them using a particular color palatte and learn to do the detailing.
