British Council invites young learners to celebrate International Women’s Day in a Book Reading session on Fantastically Great Women who changed the World, a book by Kate Pankhurst.
This book is bursting full of astounding women who achieved amazing things by following their hearts, talents and dreams. Fly through the sky with explorer Amelia Earhart, speak out for what is right with Emmeline Pankhurst and cause a fashion revolution with Coco Chanel! With beautiful illustrations and fantastic facts, this book is the perfect introduction to just a few of the incredible women who helped shape the world we live in. Follow them and prepare for an adventure of your own!
Come prepared with stories of women who have made a difference in your lives too, be it a mother, sister, friend, teacher or neighbour! Share the happiness of being a woman or finding one who changed the world for you!

The book reading session will be moderated by Ms Sheila Govindaraj, a Bangalore-based theatre actor and director. Her body of work in theatre and theatre training includes Shakespeare and several contemporary playwrights. She has been conducting regular workshops for children at the British Council, Bangalore.
